Adam Thompson is Adjunct Instructor in studio art at Brooklyn College and is a Visiting Instructor at Pratt Institute.   He graduated from Yale University in 2004, where he majored in art history and served as Art Editor for the Yale Literary Magazine.   Subsequently, he studied painting at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and was employed as artistic assistant to sculptor Bernar Venet.

Adam received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Brooklyn College in 2008.

Early in his career, Adam was awarded several prizes at the All-Island Art Show on Martha's Vineyard.   Since 1999 he has exhibited at the Dragonfly Gallery in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts.   His work has also been shown at PikNik in Oak Bluffs and at the Allen David Gallery in Boothbay Harbor, Maine.   He is a frequent contributor to Art Papers.
